Prof.M.R.Krishnamurthy founded KALAKSHITHI, School of Fine Arts in the year 1991 in Bangalore to nurture young talent in the art. Prof. M.R.Krishna Murthy has to his credit many beautiful dance compositions. On recent event he composed dance drama on the life and times of Karnataka’s famous saint and poetess ‘AKKAMAHADEVI’, on March 11th 2012 which has acclaimed a high place in art and culture.

Mrs.Kanchan Sathyavanth is practicing Bharatanatyam since the last 20 years with Prof. MR Krishnamoorthy in Kalakshithi, Bangalore. Receiving the Proficiency Degree with Kalakshithi, she has secured distinction in dance with Allahabad University and academically a double graduate holding a masters degree in finance.

Apart from performing for the inaugural ceremony for the National Games held in Bangalore (1994), she has worked with the legendary Smt.Yamini Krishnamoorthy and every year pay tribute to the founder of Kalakshetra, Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale by performance. Her recent performance was the dance drama of Akkamahadevi which was also given Government Recognition.

She also performed at Guruvayur, Mantralaya, Davangere, Udipi and have already committed to programs till mid 2015 with the grace of God. Presently, she runs a school Srishti Kala, which follows the kalakshetra style in mind to only contribute to the tradition of our rich art.
